I’ll be back very soon to tell you more (some good, some not so good : aaaah life you are a rich tapestry) about this soon-to-be new addition to my shops.
In the meantime, I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend and if you would like to make some of this twirling betty mini fabric cake bunting yourself, you can find the detailed tutorial here.

oh that is the sweetest (as in cute) cake to set off that bunting! i love it!!! its too late and i’ve had a bit too much wine to start making some but i will anyway! will send a pic once i have. x
Thanks lovely lady. Wine is mandatory for Sunday evening creative endeavours so I look forward to seeing yours.
Wish I’d seen this before I woefullly decorated Ryan’s birthday cake last week. Perhaps I can make it, and then pretend he’s having another birthday this week? Just gorgeous! x
Thanks Meaghan – the thing I love about it is that all you have to do is bake and ice a round cake. Add the bunting and Bob’s your spectacular cake uncle! Ie, maximum effect for minimum input.
ooh! are you putting them in the shop? the imposter has dubbed hers -the original-, or some such. bah.
email me when they are uploaded, so i can help spread the word. i owe you one, for the inspiration for my bebes frst bday bunting.
I am indeed Kat – in fact they’re in their now. Thanks for helping me spread the word. xx
Hello Betty, seems I’m a bit late for the party but wanted to say how much I LOVE this bunting (and the rest of your blog). If I ever get brave enough to befriend my sewing machine again then I just might try making it (the bunting, not your blog). Happy weekend to you too, Lucy
Well hello Lucy and thanks for your lovely comment. I do hope you pluck up the courage to get back on speaking terms with your machine. You won’t regret it. And even though you might think you’ve lost your sewing mojo – you’ll be amazed at how quickly it returns!
This was so inspiring I had to make one… My sewing machine was broke so I had to do some hand stitching but I think it turned out ok anyway.
It turned out beautifully! Thanks for letting me know you made one.
[...] ric rac I had and tied onto bamboo skewers. There are a lot of places you can find these but this is the one I kept coming back to. FYI, I didn’t use the tutorial she has; it looked way too [...]
